We call it 'lakror' in the south and 'laknor' in the north, though the Turkish word 'burek' (we spell it byrek in Albanian) is used everywhere. During Ottoman times, Albanians became some of the most renowned makers of burek in the Empire. To this day, throughout Turkey and the Balkans, Albanian burek bakers are some of the very finest.
