OK, this time it worked! This poem "The Year 1998" is recited in Tagore's own voice, but in Bengali. He had an unique style of recitation...very much of a "sing-song" manner. It would be nice if you could send me your recitation of this. I'll be able to redo this video using your recitation. Thanks in advance.

Oops! I tried to send you my video on a famous Tagore poem (anotated with my own translation), but this song got posted instead. Ignore it if you wish. Let me try once again the send you the real McCoy!

Excellent recitation Samuel. Perhaps, the next Tagore poem I translate to English, you would do me the honor of reciting it? Do say "Yes"!

I enjoyed reading it! I look forward to following your evolving style.. of celebrating the beauty of language :)

you sound just as great as he. His message transcribed through your spoken words. You are both great. Keep posting your wonderful poetry, even if it isn't from you. :)
wonderful Samuel, your voice, so strong and soulful :)

This time I decided to read sitting up, as opposed to the usual recumbent position in my bed. I thus expelled all that energy from my broad chest. The soulfulness may be an outcome of my recent decision to take a few emotional risks in my otherwise restrained approach to reading. This is an elaborate response to your brief and sweet compliment. Thank you.

This is a fantastic portrayal from the mind of Samuel. Very well said, and an excellent portrayal of a poet's dream.

Sweet John, the mind is that of Rabindranath Tagore, one of the great Indian poets, if not the greatest. I merely read his poem, that is all. Thank you for being a constant friend.
