crosby isnt a goal scorer, ovechkin is

crosy has more assistes than goals, OV has more goals

but id say all around ovechkin is better besides his ridiculous salary, he is a one man team.

I'm not saying that the teams have equal talent but you don't have 20 men on the ice at the same time do you? I'm saying that Washington has enough talent to put some good players on the same line with Ovechkin. Semin, Backstrom, Nylander and Kozlov are good offensive players who can definitely help him. I'm just saying that Crosby's linemates are not spectacular compared to Ovechkin's.

Washington has 60 points in 58 games, Pittsburgh 69 in 57, and the Pens haven't had Crosby in weeks. I understand and agree with the point you're trying to make, but suggesting that Ovechkin has equal talent around him as Crosby is just stupid. We'll have a better comprehension of who's better in 10 years when we see who's lead their teams to more championships, but right now, the Penguins are a much better team than the Caps, rendering any relevant comparison quite difficult.

its because everyone feels the need to compare players in sports. Like in basketball. Everybody is expected to be the next Jordan. They can't just be the first Lebron James lol. Yea they are different, but I think people are really just trying to compare the numbers as of right now. They are both amazing players though. I would give the nod to Sid on being the best of the two when the careers are over. Even though they have different styles of playing.

Does anyone else think that it's useless to compare two players who are that different? It's quite obvious that Ovechkin is an elite power forward and Crosby is a playmaker of such. And Washington isn't even that bad, they have players who can support Ovechkin.
