Its funny getting nostalgic about Mark E Smith but I remember hearing 'Grotesque' and thinking how harsh, anti music and anti fashion they sounded then. How clever and funny. Of the 'punk' thing but really doing what they wanted or what Mark E wanted. Mark E isn't thinking about what he is wearing but what they sound like. Is it fashionable? It did get a little fashionable when Brix was in the band. He always sounds like the Fall though wether he's singing 'Pay your Rates' or 'Victoria'.
