Zune 101: Creating and Using Sync Groups (Autoplaylists)

One of the new features in the 2.5 spring update for the Zune is the ability to create sync groups, which are auto playlists - easy ways for you to get the music, photos, and videos you want onto your Zune, automatically. This video shows you how to do that.

if you have an ipod and bought hundreds of dollars in music using itunes is there a way to sync all the music to your zune?

@Jakkom12 As long as the iTunes music isn't protected by the iTunes DRM ("FairPlay"), the yes, you can put all that music on your Zune.

@ThoughtsMedia i have a bit of a problem....i want to put 2 episodes of the cell saga (dbz) on my wp7, sadly it says it couldnt be sync....any suggestions

@JAYWALKERS3000 I don't know what that is, but it sounds like a video file. If so, it needs to be in the right format or it won't sync over. The Zune desktop software can transcode several formats, but not all. You'll need to figure out how to get it into the right format for your device.

i have the 120 g zune- after doing the sync group for the videos and disconnecting it from comp, where is the playlist? i've been searching on line and i've tried many things to get a video playlist but can never get one :( any help is appreciated

Creating a Sync Group is not the same as creating a playlist - they're two completely different things. You'll need to create the playlist yourself.

when i plug in my zune the playlistdoesnt pop up what do i do

I had all my songs on my windows media player and I couldn't get them from that. Now I burn them onto the software and I still can't synce them. Shit I just paid 140 for this and I can't use it.

That's one way to charge the Zune, yes. I have a Gomadic tip that allows me to charge the Zune separately from the computer since I charge my Zune more often than I sync it.
