Residents of Chaka in Kieni East District held a demonstration to protest against what they termed as harassment by administration police officers. The demonstration was triggered by the alleged murder of a sand dealer last night by an administration police officer who has since been arrested.

This is a nationwide problem. even in the best parts of Nairobi, if you happen to meet the police at night while you are on foot, you end up in jail for no reason at all, or for not carrying your ID. since when was that a crime?

Isn't that the truth!

In my days growing up in Nairobi I remember police raiding pubs and arresting people whose only crime was freely enjoying their hard earned money, this was at night even before closing time. It was even worse if you came across a police land rover or APs on patrol at night, they would arrest for no reason at all. I recall people saying it was more safe to bump into thugs than the police.

Why do the Kenya police use force on peaceful demonstrators? Is Kenya a failed state or a police state? You see this and you just wanna say F kenya!
