  • You don't play as Sendo in any of those fights, but Vorg and Saeki are playable and you fight against them as Ippo in Story Mode. There's an in-game model for Shigeta as they show him getting beaten in a cutscene, but he's not playable in the actual game.

  • you can totally see they did not use motion capture for those moves :/

they could have made the dempsy roll look more intense and cooler like they did in the anime

  • Keep in mind that the Dempsey Roll in the anime (and manga) is exaggerated. The real thing is nothing like what you see in the anime (or manga). Just do a YouTube search for the keywords, "Jack Dempsey" and "Jess Willard" and you'll see it in action.

  • UGLY GAME :|

  • @DaNotoriousMC But it's a video game! It NEEDS to be over exaggerated!

  • I'm pretty disappointed by these graphics...

  • it is not to avoid a counter, dempsey was 2 small for the heavyweight division, all of his opponents were taller than him so the dempsey roll was to evade straight and jabs from taller opponents and the punches clearly knocked them out

  • he's talking about the game genius

  • lmao mr. genius.. read again..

  • he's talking about the game genius

  • ............thats because its real life boxing

  • i kno. i was not dazed (definately tired, but im sure my sparing partner was too) but i missed a counter (dont recall, but i think i might have been feinted) and he did "roll" or bob and weave to get into the inside of my open guard (from missing the punch)...

then came a barage of hooks and the next thing i knew i was down =\

  • the thing to remember is that Jack Dempsey didn't start 'rolling' constantly, he only did it when he needed to to evade, to him it was just advanced bobbing and weaving. you only use the Dempsey roll for its barrage of punches when the opponent is dazed or tired, or if you have that much more dexterity to avoid a counter.
