It needed to be said. What we want to hear isn't always what we need to hear.

Back in the 1980's corporations decided to send out youth scouts to get inside our heads. They saw us as a potential marketing demographic to exploit. They force fed us this culture, Record Labels, Rap, BET, MTV, Brand Names, Pop, the club scene, it's all to serve a few greedy bastards at the top who are profiting off of our stolen identity.

When we embrace this culture of ignorance we betray the dream of MLK.

"African Americans were wronged but no where near as bad as the Indians or Jews" well at least the indians were able to get reparations for that experience, they also were able to keep their culture intact despite their hardship (having the homefield advantage and all) African Americans didn't get any of the above they were taken oversea and were forced to assimilate as slaves all the while being told to forget about their culture as well as identities it was easier to opress blacks than indians

Wrong, Africans have experience genocide unparalled to anyone else. From millions who died in the middle passage, from Leopold Senghor Sengar killing of the Congolese, from the first holocaust committed by Germans in Southern Africa, to the Eugenics movement in America that specifically target Africans. Native americans WERE able to perserve their culture as well as their identity on who they are, natives still have a rich culture they are able to identify themselves with (via having the homefiled advantage). Black americans have NO idea on their ancestral history for the simple fact that generations upon generations were forced to assimilate as slaves and had to forget their original names in favor of their slave names. If they tried to rebel not only were they shot, they were tortured.
