@HK91PTR To be fair `modern` styles are just TMA with a rule set. FIghting is much the same around the world at any given time since people are the same (2 legs, arms etc). If modern sports like MMA, Kick boxing etc changed the rule set (hair pulling, small joint manipulation etc) then MA would look a lot more trad.

@HK91PTR Traditional taekwondo is ITF. Where I learn strong kicks, punches(straight, hooks, uppercuts), ground fighting(there not on high level), locks, strangling, blocks(Knees and elbows I learn alone(easily)). We have punches to the face in sport fighting but semi-contact. The full-contact sparring is on seminars with masters(just for blackbelts) and there is no competition.

I just wanted to say "some matrial arts may look ridiculous beacouse the real form can be easily forgotten".

@HK91PTR Thats actually what I've been telling people. TMA isn't bad. Modern TMA is bad. TMA used to be shit people killed each other with all the time. The other thing was, people used to train a lot more then they do now.

not all traditional martial arts suck...just most of them...it's funny the more real a karate style is...daido juku is an offshoot of mas oyama's kyokushin...the more the matches start to look like boxing/kickboxing/mma - just saying....these fights don't look like tae kwon do point sparring...real fights don't have flying side kicks and horse stances...all the traditional martial arts that don't suck have a tournament where the goal is to hurt your opponent not playing a game of tag
