Going through the storage bins in my parent's basement, I found some of my old toys that they'd held onto. I gave them one last hug, one last play, took some pictures, and sent them off to kids who need them.
It's amazing, isn't it? The attachments we make to these toys? They were a source of joy in an often-scared and confusing childhood. It really was like saying Goodbye to a first best friend.
I must have grown up without toys. I have no recollections of toys. There were so many kids, that if we had any, they would have been collectively owned! I've never been big on childhood or kids' things, even as a kid. But, man, I loved stationery and tools.

That one was awesome, thanks for sharing! :) I have cleared away all of the toys I ever collected over the years and gave them to other kids, save for one: my first teddy. That guy was by my side during all of my life's aches and pains - he looks like a car crash or a gurrl down now, but he's a keeper. Make sure to save one thing that made you the happiest - there's no harm in keeping a little piece of childhood close by. :)

Awww, this reminds me of the end of the last Toy Story where Andy is giving his toys away and remembering how special they all were to him. I cried then and I cried now.
