I've been using a homemade washing powder with just Baking Soda (regular kind in the orange box), Borax, and grated ivory/kirk's/ or fels naptha, in equal parts. Works great!

FYI Bexar, We followed your "recipe" 3+ months ago. The wife and I have used it ever since!! I don't think we'll be going back. We are going to use up what we have and stick with the "recipe". The clothes come out just as clean!! Thanks for the tip and all the work!!
