When Sarah Jane said at 7:34, "Look, if I was a ghost - and by the way, there's no such thing - well you wouldn't be able to touch me, would you?" my first thought was, "If there's no such thing as ghosts, how could you possibly know how they would work if they did exist?"

Later on in the episode, Sarah Jane explains the science that creates the appearance of ghosts (which apparently are intangible). What I really don't get is how this scientific theory invalidates use of the word "ghost."
