Beirut - Paris of the East (Before 2006)

Beirut is commonly referred to as the Paris of the East, it is the capital of Lebanon with a population of over 2.1 million as of 2007. This city located on the Mediterranean Sea, has been continuously inhabited over the centuries and its history goes back more than 5000 years.
It is a vibrant, stylish city, with all the fun, fashion and flair that a world traveler could look for. Beiruts unique style can be appreciated thru its architecture of sleek modern buildings alongside French style and arabesque buildings.

The 2006 Lebanon War brought destruction to this beautiful city as well as the countryside and more than 1,000,000 Lebanese were displaced from their homes. Reconstruction will take years and billions of dollars.
Beirut was listed as one of the top ten liveliest cities in the world by the Lonely Planet list of the top ten cities for 2009.

why do you blame only israel and forget the source of the problem ?

the PALESTINIANS who came as refugees to lebanon , and started sending misslies to israel through lebanese territories

why should lebanese pay for palestinians attack to israel and why palestinians never cared about the lebanese losses

why don't you blame the palestinians who started officially the war in lebanon by shooting on christians coming out of a church ??

i personally disagree with the Hizbullah, and their close Iranic relations, but its not them who destroyed Beirut, its the Assholes in south of the Lebanon borders...

and their leadership, that took the decision of ruining the country, after failing to win over the Hizbullah, they wish to make out of it as a victory...

Beirut Has not really looked great since before 1975. But yes, it i sad so much got ruined in 2006 war because of a bunch of radicals in South Lebanon. Because of their poor leadership, we all had to suffer.
