My cell phone's receiving a call turns on a nearby electric thermometer in addition to making the familiar audio interference, picked up by the camcorder's mic preamp.

  • did it say 188??

  • It actually always says that when turning on - every element in the display is 'lit'. But it doesn't blink like that normally. The blinking is, I believe, the thermometer turning on and off repeatedly while the cell phone rings.

  • And this was while it was receiving a call. I should try it while making a call.

  • Cmon guys. This is just an electromagnetic field which induces a small voltage in the wiring enough to activate the LCD of the thermometer. It only proves that the thermometer was not shielded properly.

  • still thats friggin creepy im goin to txt msg from now on

  • Quite weird! Apparently the most radiation phones give out is in the 5 secs or so when you're about to receive/make a call cos it searches all round for which mast has the best strength. So when you dial a number and press Call/Send/Etc hold it away from your ear for 5 secs.
