MEG STAPLETON: The bottom line is the sole purpose for this investigation was to find out and figure out whether this governor executed her proper and lawful, constitutional and statutory authority to reassign Walt Monnegan. Beyond that, an opinion was expressed on behalf of one individual who said that, [] the governor maybe could have done more to tell her husband to stop talking about this rogue trooper.
The governor is absolutely free and clear of anything and any of the accusations that have come forward.
This governor did nothing wrong, and nothing unlawful.
The politicized nature of it was, well we just spent 100,000 bucks, lets figure out what we can say try and do something damaging, and so they created their own opinion on this [], they have no authority to do anything with it, because its not within their authority to say she had any ethics violation.
ANDREA MITCHELL: The timing on that [report] was tactical, if nothing else, because that would put it after the election [].
STAPLETON: No, that s not true. [] There is an investigator who has already begun the work. [] It very well could be that an outcome comes before this election, and the independent investigator knows that he needs to conduct this, and is conducting this in the most expedition of manner possible.

Meg Stapleton is about as blatant a liar as Palin is. "The sole purpose"? Uh, Meg, the purpose was to see if she abused the power of her office. Guess what? That was conclusion #1: Guilty.
