Regarding the Defranco familty, there is a Michael Jackson - Donny Osmond element of young cutsy heart-throb sensationalism produced by the media and enforced for record sales. Teens were discovered to be a "Mom, buy me that" group. In a twisted way, it was to also to turn adults adults onto kids during a time when young & mod was prompted. It was the "don't trust anybody over 30" era. The Peter Pan Syndrome was rampant, then in its infancy.
