Quake

Quake has been developed by id Software in 1996. This first-person shooter introduced 3D models instead of 2D sprites and the use of lightmaps and 3D light sources. In this video you can see the shareware version.

@TheSuperMolman thats nt 100% right since valve first heavely changed the quake eninge before using it to create hl1 but in the end its still kinda the quake engine ;)

@dellefranz try dosbox or winquake :D i use win xp. and i played qauke 1 on win 7 with dosbox

If you get the steam version, get the ultimate quake patch. Yeah it changes win quake to dark places but you can change graphics to their original settings. But get it because it gives you the nine inch nails soundtrack Trent Reznor composed.
