Vegas has epilepsy. He is a happy (almost) 4 year old English bulldog who loves nothing more that to push his little sister's buttons. Vegas averages about 1 seizure every 3 to 6 weeks. We have him on 2 types of anti-seizure meds, his own neurologist, and blood work every 3 months.
Having a special needs dog is a lot of work. But, on most days.....Vegas is just like any other bulldog. Goofy, lovable, charming....lazy.

  • I want to thank you for this. My bulldog had one of these just today and I couldn't explain to friends and the vet what it looked like, and this helped me illustrate. I'm sorry you have to deal with this, but know that you've helped at least one person by documenting what a bully's seizure looks like.

  • Sending you a private message..having problems responding with what I want to say.

  • I have a 8month old English and he just started having them. had a few tonight actually. His aren't quite as severe as Vegas but mine does it for about a min, urinates himself, and passes out "faints" and then acts like nothing happens. Ive sent mine (Sebastian) to 3 vets and all say nothing neurology is wrong so I'm looking or answers. Ive had blood work done, X-rays, etc and no one knows nothing. so if anyone has any answers please let me know. Ill post some vids to see of anyone can help.

  • @cjcanesfan13 I just sent you a private message......

  • My dog has epilepsy too, but not nearly as severe as Vegas. She's on a really got medicine which keeps her from not having any seizures. I hope that Vegas will get better and have fewer seizures. You're taking good vare of him, I can see that. :) It's a very emotional experience to watch your best friend go through something like that but what else is there to do than to just stay with them? Vegas will be in my thoughts. -3

  • @DrummerElliott Thankyou. Vegas has been doing better these last few months. He's had 3 in the last 5 months...but that is a huge improvement over one every 3 weeks. He is on 2 different seizure meds, which are controlling them, but not preventing them. Hopefully the next few months will be easier on him.

  • Our dog has similar. Could not afford Flea control 3 months and he did not have one. Fed him a diet dog food he had one. Stopped food a week none, gave it to him and he had one. Applied another kind of flea control tonight, he had one about 8 hours later. Had none in weeks. We are thinking it is a preservative being used. I personally have allergies to certain preservatives. Stinks companies do not often list preservatives, Prayers you can figure out what causes them and hopefully eliminate it.

  • @libra92673 I sent you a fb request with a message.

  • Awwww poor puppy :((

  • @Karen77724 I have an 80-lb boxer/lab mix (that I adopted from the shelter) that has VERY severe grand mal seizures. Life is pretty much the same with her as with a "normal" dog. Honestly, you learn to deal with it. The only additional costs are her seizure medication and regular vet visits. Like Vegas, she has taught me so much about life, and I always make it a point now to help other owners with seizure prone dogs. So I'd say definitely adopt if you're up to it! :)

  • poor baby take him to the docter

  • I find this very sad.
