I owned a Deemster and and Amabassador in the mid 1960's and they were both beautifully built little bikes and very reliable. The Deemster was unique in that it was a sort of cros between a Scooter and a Motorcycle and had the advantages of both.
The Villiers 250cc twin cylinder engine that both machines used was excellent, easy to start in all weathers and quite powerful - acceleration was very good and the handling of both bikes was excellent.

:) I've got a couple of bits of film of my Embra mate's Deemster - it's the same, won't start if you film it!!
Looks such a pretty wee scoot, but handles great, and totally satanic once it fires up.
