Self-Injecting PIO for IVF with 25g Needle

Getting ready to do this soon. Can you tell me why you pull medication out with one size needle and then inject with a different size? Why can't you use the 25g to do both?

That is how they showed me. I am not sure, but I think sucking it up with a small needle could introduce air (?) but also, the rubber thing could dull it a bit - you want the needle you actually inject with sharp and unused. The 18g needles you pull the oil up with are HUGE - don't forget to change it - I never did this but I've heard of people forgetting. OUCH! :) Good luck!!!

isn't that the stuff to keep u from getting pregnant or something?

use bigger needle to draw up oil solution, quicker, then use smaller needle to inject, as a bit less painfuil.

Because of this video, I asked my clinic for the 25g needle. Thanks!

Hey wow you are so very brave i AMS starting on the medication soon. I wanted to cry watching you do it as im affaird of the whole giving myself it could be just my emotions. i hope you got the baby you wanted! i have bloked tubes.

Thanks for posting this...my husband gives me the shot but I wasnt sure if we were placing it correctly--the "hands on hips where thumb goes" analogy was perfect. Also the idea of heating the syringe in heating pad. Thanks again.  Good luck.
