The night before her cancer surgery, Monica attempts to convince herself she's invincible by walking the balcony rail. Luckily, Alan is there to catch her. (Who's going to catch her now?)

  • she should have recived n emmy for this scene!!!

  • Why the hell didn't Leslie Charleson ever win an Emmy for this performance. She was aweseome in this storyline!!!

  • These 2 are the BEST and always will be. I always loved how you could see Alan's emotions just by looking at him, even without him speaking. His love for Monica is so evident in this scene. I love it!!

  • I have seen this video at least a dozen times and have never commented! this is by far my favorite Alan and Monica scene EVER! there is just an amazing chemistry between the two and Leslie Charleson is such a good actress! this storyline is so powerful that not many people could pull it off, at least not with as much conviction and reality as LC did. these two truly are the greastest couple in daytime.

  • God Bless these two...Esp here, it is deeply meaningful.I have had breast cancer twice, and for a PRINCE to treat a woman like his QUEEN the night before..Its a dear..Thank you Stuart and Leslie, ALWAYS!

  • I TOTALLY AGREE!!

  • This HAS to be one of my favorite scenes of Alan and Monica in the 90's...they're older...more mature...been to hell and back and going through hell again...yet they are showing the deepest love without saying much at all...LC playing the cancer patient was AWESOME...she displayed every level of what a patients goes through...but does not overact it...it comes off VERY believable...*this is also how I feel about NLG's current s/l WHEN they give her screen time*...

  • The newby couples are constantly verbally professing their love because they have to remind the viewers that they are in love because it's not very believable otherwise. Someone needs to tell the writers that sometimes LESS IS MORE.

  • Here's what I mean by great chemistry. This is the big difference between A&M and the newby couples. A&M don't tell each other I love you every waking minute nor do they profess their love to other characters all the time. Through their chemistry/facial expressions/gestures, you know that they love each other deeply. It's an essential of all great love stories.

  • This is the big difference between A&M and the newby couples. A&M don't tell each other I love you every waking minute and they don't profess their love to other characters all the time. Through their chemistry/gestures/facial expressions, you knew the love was there. It's the same in any great love story. In Casablanca, Bogart never tells Bergman that he loves her, but you knew it.
