Well done for finding a quality saw for such a cheap price !
Regarding saws that are cheap from new......
There is nothing wrong in using a cheap saw as long as you accept that saws differ in price for a reason. Cheaper saws can achieve great results but it really does depend on the user ! Once you get proficient, the saw quality rears it's ugly head and becomes a real issue ! If you just intend to cut the odd bit here and there, why waste money on a good saw ?

@mondovila where the heck did you find a 500 dollar scroll saw for 100 bucks?

Well my guess that is MDF board or soft plywood which both cut like butter. I would like to see how that saw preforms in 3/8" solid oak intricate fretwork. ( which is what i do mostly) Oak , purple heart , birds eye maple all at least 1/4 inch.
Any scroll saw could have done what you shown.
Nice job on that though.

@TheHyproglo Hi...Words come easy but actions are that much harder. Why don't you put a video up of you doing similar on a cheap scrollsaw as I'm sure many here would like to see it ?

Hi there. I have been using different scrollsaws over the last 15 years and and have done lots of various cutting. I just however, got the dewalt DW788 and I am happy over all. I am however not pleased with the terrible front to back movement. I had to do the makeshift fix they have up on the tune-up site and it's a bit better.
I am currently making the "Birds of paradise" clock out of birds eye maple, oak and purple heart. You won't feed a blade through that as fast as you did here.

Hi.....' Feed the blade through ' are you talking about the correct video here as I think you are referring to my other video on blade changing ?
I don't worry too much about front to back blade action as it's a myth you have to have a perfectly set blade that is upright from front to back.... blah blah blah. As soon as you push wood into the blade, the blade action is drastically changed and blade type and tension come into play.
Have done lots of experimentation on this.

Holy cow, that was quick, you better watch your fingers lol.

@redemptionfb Hi, I've been watching my fingers for 39 years in woodworking and I'm pleased to say I still have all of them !
The scroll saw is one of the safest wood cutting machines around.
