It's funny, I am a big James Brown fan, I also love Wilson Pickett and other soul singers but I never cared much for Aretha's voice or for Otis Redding;s voice, even though they are very talented.

i dnt completely agree, yes sfter her and during her time ther were contenders but she was basically the beginning of deep soul music after mahahlia jackson of course...u have to understand most of the legends when compared arent necessarily the best but they ARE the trend setters

One thing is that Aretha doesn't have to worry about anyones opinion because her legacy is secured her in this world why many of your corpses turn to dust. So, why not just simply enjoy whatever artist you wish. But it will never change one letter of the legacy of Miss Aretha Franklin.
