THE WORDS:

Broken scars
across the evening sky
Streaked like infant tears
I lay my bed in the marshes
with the ancient mayfly
wiping my lucidity clear.
Humanity gave up
with a whimper
Over the long stretch of time
Now out of the ebony sky
comes rolling thunder
They thought their caliginous actions
to be sublime.

No thoughts,
no voices fled from within,
just stupefied silence
that was much akin
To the minds of the muted ignorant,
My monologue speaking absent
About their ancient bold doctrine
Falling on deaf ears
leaving my breath to stiffen.

I wandered across the
strange path of this reality,
Witnessed time with
heightened sense of ability;
I hope one day to return
to that lurid world
where imagination is serenely hurled
into a vat of potent delight
where friends and foes
can love deeply into the night.

The leaves are falling now
across autumn's sunburst skies
I'm perched on this hill
harkening humanities silent outcry,
Feeling a chill crawl
tentatively up my back
the urge to flee gripping me.

Let me journey
far from this province,
Let me catch a glimpse
of the constellations;
Let me discover
a natural path to convince
my consciousness of its emancipation.

On the road I saunter
through bramble and bush
the crystal ice of winter's chill
breathing my cheeks to a scarlet flush,
there are few who chose to survive,
many that chose to die
those of us left are all alone;
our last breath before the plunge.

The words of mine
like the words of others
went unheard
Lying awake under the black veil
I ponder feeling blurred
about the slow intoxication
of our spirituality
Scream my pain tonight with me!
Cough up the phlegm
from the polluted moon
where the dead were sent
and callously strewn.

One day I will give up;
exhaustion taking me
into her arms
For I have witnessed
too much depravity
Like the whore's that work
on their decadent farms,
For now I will rest my eyes
feeling bleary
Tomorrow I push on,
an unknown goal leaving no boundary.

Let me journey
far from this province,
Let me catch
a glimpse of the constellations;
Let me discover
a natural path to convince
my consciousness of its emancipation.

Electric squalls lick
the shores of the heavens
like a tsunami bound
for its destiny,
I meditate underneath
this cosmic beacon
Feeling at peace shrouded by the barley.
