One of my greatest memories was when I was little and my mom and I would go down town shopping. We always stopped at the Woolworth's lunch counter and I would order an egg salad sandwich and a chocolate milkshake. I would give anything for just one more time sitting next to her at that lunch counter.

And I thought I was the only one who feels like that about that song. Wow, like a real legend.

I got to see her in 89 in Ann Arbor MI. The place was packed! 3hr drive for me one way. Yet when she did this song I still almost cried. Her voice singing it still gets the best of me.Kathy Mattea did good but Nancy has a better way of putting more feeling into it. I don't listen to it when I'm sad, makes me cry like a baby. Just the way it comes out - beautifully.

The first elevator ride that i remember taking was in a Woolworth store with an old black gentalman as the operator an i can still smell that smell.
