This song is taken from the promotional album "Christmas Carols" by the Choir of Christchurch Cathedral, Dublin. The sole aim of this video is to promote the choir's music. It is not my intention to infringe copyright. Before I posted this video there were no individual recordings of this song on YouTube. I felt that his music should be available to a wider audience. However, I will happily remove this video should the copyright owners request so.

Although this album came free with the Irish Independent, further recordings by the choir can be purchased at: http://cccdub.ie/index.php?/shop.html

  • @proSpiritofTruth To the best of my knowledge, this is a choir of young girls

  • Thank you!

  • I love the christmas carols and this one in particular. Whether you are religious or not, I can't help but think that anyone with a sense of marvel, the joy of spirituality and beauty will be moved by the beauty of these young voices, with the climax of the whole congregation towards the end. Wonderful!

  • @proSpiritofTruth Are you kidding me? Just enjoy the beauty of the song! I'm not in the least bit religious but I was brought up with these hymns and carols and to this day I still love them despite having absolutely no belief in God or any higher being, but for the love of Christmas spirit, don't come to someone's video of a great recording of a beautiful song and start nit-picking about the soprano boys. Just be happy that there are still choirs out there to give us these beautiful recordings.

  • I am an ex choir boy from St Mary's Cathedral,Sydney,1961-1963and I was searching to see if there were still boy sopranos of the calibre in my days.or example, looking for choirs featuring Once in Royal David's city I knew I would hear boy sopranos and was terribly disappointed with one obviously breathing almost entirely from the costal region which for us was 100% diaphragm. To this day I do not use that part of my chest except when running hard. This choir as a whole is good as it used to be
