  • I loved the video...even though it's propoganda.

1.These are not the European elections (Norway,Switzerland etc.also belong to Europe)

    These are EU elections.

2.The elections are not democratic : In a real democracy every vote has the same weight.

38,000 votes are needed in Luxemburg to chose an MEP. In Germany the number of votes needed is 628,000.

3.Europeans were never asked if they wanted an EU parliament & an un-elected legislative.

    4.What is a peace-loving EU army ?

  • 3. I am afraid that you are at least partly wrong, as accession was approved by public referenda in most EU member states. Norway did not join as her membership was rejected by a public referendum. As I know, there were referenda were held on predecessors to the EU such as the ECSC and EEC as well.

    4. EU battlegroups are insignificant and have no invasion force. Joint EU military force is rather designed for peacekeeping.

Thank you for your inspiring comment :)

  • Allow me to repeat myself and compliment you on your beautiful work.

On a less beautiful subject,...many of us (especially here in Germany) are wary of plans for a European `defence ´force willing and able under the Lisbon treaty/constitution to engage militarily anywhere in the world without regard to the UN charter.

`Designed for peacekeeping´often leads (with the stroke of a pen) to something completely different...by which time it is too late for discussion.

  • Thanks again :)

I share your concerns and hope they are going to turn out to have been superfluous.

  • Well done!

Finaly a pro-European commercial. There are too much stupid and ignorant run of the mill EU-bashing.

  • What propoganda! They act as if they are the peace makers. First off, it was the British and their allies who made peace. Second, remember that area called the Balkans. Complete rubbish this video is.

  • If given the choice, there is no doubt that the U.K population would vote to leave the E.U. but we havent been given a choice.

Europe is not one nation, and the E.U can bring out as many treaty as they like, but a few fat shelf serving politicians cant wipe out 1000s of years of history, by signing pieces of paper.

And again you seem to have no idea about democracy (as the E.U commission dont), because pointing out failing is a good thing, not Bitching and moaning.

  • Well if you think that's true then, like I said, be my guest. Just stop bitching and moaning about it. As the American's say "shit or get off the pot".

  • What an arrogant little pr*ck you are. implying any view other than your is wrong, or comes from a lack of knowledge. Maybe a little country like holland cant progress, without being ruled by someone else. But the U.K and many other country's in the E.U are more than capable of progressing with out the interference of other nations.

I suggest it you that as a lack of understanding, and in particular the word democracy.

  • Honestly I wish the UK would just step out already. You're ruining it for the rest of us who do want progress in the world, who do not want to become an irrelevant collection of bickering states on the world stage.

  • bad loser! the left is being eradiacted - the sooner it's destroyed completely never to return, the better

  • That's generally my view, a strong unified trade agreement, neither France, Britain or Germany alone can compete with the United States, China or Russia.

An EU based Interpol is already in existence but it's poorly run, I heard they're reforming it.

But problems with our Prison service and Crime and Punishment is generally my beef with Brussels.

  • Agreed, the EU should only make laws regarding standards and regulation and laws which make it easier for EU member states to track down criminals in other members. Im also for the EU, but it needs reform.

  • Frankly between the people's complete lack of understanding, the media's sensationalist frenzy and the politicians power grubbing perhaps it's time to give up on the EU before the right-wingers use it as a platform to take over once again.

  • You might as well tell me to visit Alex Jones like the Tin Foil Hats tend to.

I'm for the EU, I'm against EU Laws that make stupid regulations that interfere with British Services and Law.
