  • I was in choir with Dorothy in high school. She was, of course, the soprano soloist, and whenever she sang, it was difficult for the rest of us to continue singing--we all just wanted to stop and listen to her. When she sang Ave Maria, we'd all compare goosebumps on our arms. Between her talent, kindness, beauty, and inner beauty, she was well deserving of the Miss America title.

  • Oh man, this is my mom and to see her on Youtube is SOOO weird!!

  • Lovely performance and charming Miss America 1977💗!💗💗!

  • .......Great performing ability too. Its nice when you can understand every word a soprano is singing and they possess this much personality!!!!

  • wow, impressive.

  • miss alaska 1998 did this song too wich was very good too.

  • One of the most beautiful, most talented Miss Americas ... EVER.

  • @TheSavannahroberts why not just say Bb...or is that perfect pitch kicking in again...kidding she hit a High D in Altisimi (sp...above treble clef)

  • wunderbar!

  • I worked with Dorothy in the televised 1981 Miss California Pagaent. We were both guest performers with Leslie John. Remember Dorothy? She has always been not just talented, but extremely gracious and humble. I was 20 years old at the time and loved every minute of that performance. We did a version of Kenny Loggins 'This Is It' with lyrics that fit the pagaent. I did my song that had just been released 'This Is My Home USA.' So much fun and great memories. Hello Dorothy, Bobbe Llynne

  • @VTMCompany I think it's just a High D. And yes, her note is higher than the air horn which was an A sharp below High C. :)
