Tom Sawyer speaks candidly about what it's like to be a scientific journalist covering water management and environmental policies. It's important for the public to know what is being done to protect natural resources like water but policy makers won't give journalists a seat at the table.
This discussion occured at the H209 Forum, part of NY400 week. The Forum brought together Dutch and American experts in sustainability and water management. Check out NY400.org for more information.
What is the use of scientific-environmental journalism when the interest groups censor every aspects of factual reports?? Wasn't September 11, 2001 enough example of how journalism is not able to report actual scientific facts? Facts such as this one that on that day a new type of physics were introduced to the whole academia? !
