I have Temporal Lobe Epilepsy with Frontal Lobe Abnormalities. I also run www.EpilepsySupportGroup.co.uk Offering information and support for all types of epilepsy, medication, seizures etc. Whether you suffer from, have experienced, are curious about, or simply wish to help raise awareness of Epilepsy... please join.

This footage is taken from a series of seizures that took place both in the bath and also on the bathroom floor on 4th March 2008. My fiance is with me and keeping me safe throughout. This video has no sound as we had not yet worked out how to do it. Other videos that will follow do have sound on them. I have condensed down the footage as there was alot of it from this particular incident.

Please feel free to redistribute this video with the link to my support group attached to it.

Thankyou for watching.
Tania x.

  • Are you concious?

  • @kittypride2

Hello, I was not conscious as far as I am aware. Although sometimes used to be partially aware of what was happening. Also I have currently been seizure free for over 8 months :)

  • Wow. Thanks for sharing this. Our teen son has seizures and the entire family has had a near nervous breakdown when he's locked the doors and been in bath, and not answered us...now we have doors that we can open with a key and rule is he takes NO baths or showers or swims alone...bless you

  • It can be so hard to strike the right balance regarding safety and privacy. Something I can recommend (I know it sounds odd) is a 2 way baby monitor. That way if a seizure occurs you can here it happening and get to him without his loss of privacy. Likewise you can enquire if he's okay if all goes quiet, and if he's fine and just relaxing etc he can answer, again without losing privacy.

  • I was not any medication for it he said he would get scans done then I would called back for the results I had all tests done they ask for yet I have seen the consultant yet as he retired and there are no other consultant neurologists in the county yet and I have been waiting since April to get my results which I am not impressed by at all I feel I am suffering unnecessary I feel like many failed by the nhs I personally scrap the nhs re build it for 21st century

  • Where in the UK are you? I can look into neuros who may be able to help

  • My boyfriend has seizures. They are SCARY! )'; I get so worried when he's at home alone because he could have one and no one will be there to take care of him! Ugh, these things are horrible. I wish they didn't exist!

  • I am sorry that you have the same enemy as I do when it comes to epilepsy....bathtubs =) lol

Countless bruises and awkward moments with waking up feeling like I ran a marathon and now have a hangover to my parents seeing me naked.

Yup...my life....hang in there ....there will be a cure one day!....I'm glad that you have a good man to watch over you.

  • @medicalterrylove2 I worry all the time about that, and a friend of mine lost her brother due to drowning in the bath because of seizure and another friends brother drowned in the pool. Epilepsy sucks and it's no fun being " different " but my daughter and others have to take some responsibility when it comes to their illness or there may be terrible consequences. Your statement makes no sense, that's the point, seizures can happen anytime with no warning !!!

  • @medicalterrylove2 How is that disrespectful? My 17yr old daughter has epilepsy and has been told numerous times by the neurologist, eeg techs and others about the dangers of being in water. She is stubborn and takes baths when no one is home despite these warnings, how many broken hearts would there be if she had a seizure while in the bath and drowned? More deaths are caused by secondary incidents and not the seizures themselves. I was trying to potentially save someone by my comment.

  • @pinkyt67 DISRESPECTFUL!!!! AND RUDE!!!!!! have you know god damn shame!!!!! maybe she was taking a bath and the seizure just started

  • WHY ARE YOU IN A BATHTUB AT ALL, I KNOW SOMEONE WHO DROWNED AT 18 YEARS OLD FROM HAVING A SEIZURE WHILE IN THE BATH!!

  • Interesting vid. X_X I have epilepsy myself but only seen it happen once myself. Do you have a memory lapse afterwords? I do, after waking up i suddenly lose about 5 minutes of being awake afterwards.

  • @funkyfairyuk are tonic clonic seizures painful can you please describe how it felt
