everyone needs to stop mixing religion with culture! oppressing women isnt a religious issue but rather a cultural issue. THERE IS A BIG DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CULTURE AND RELIGION. sheesh.

What these widows and orphans need is not a temporary shelter. They need villages made up of their population to shield them from the mysogynism of their society with healthcare, education, and psychological counseling to help them stay strong as they combat the dominant culture. They've basically been robbed of personhood if they have to depend on male relatives to function normally.

@AdiZetaFunction Yeah, and about whole books in the Bible dedicated to war and violence. get over yourself; nearly all religions advocate violence. Read the Bible and you'll notice the Quran is a lot less violent. I say this as a Catholic.
