My Xantrex Prosine 1800 Watt inverter is mounted in the garage. I used the remote mounting kit to put the display panel near the door leading into the house. During last Summer, and now starting again this one, the display goes bonkers periodically on hot days. The inverter still works as expected despite the display. Cycling the power switch fixes the display. Short of mounting the display indoors where it's cooler, don't know of another solution that doesn't consume power (like mounting a fan near the display).
@senormechanico: I've had a Xantrex Prosine 1800 for about four years. Have about 50 hours on it, and it still runs perfect. Even ran it in a blinding rainstorm (didn't intend to, but happened anyway). Point being, mine is runing just fine. Don't be quick to judge a brand name by one bad item.

I have the same inverter, purchased used. It lasted a half hour before it died.
Display is blank. 13.2 volt supply from 1100 aH worth of deep cycle batts.
I'm not impressed with Xantrex !
