Well, technically speaking I believe "dooms day" is relative to the individual, more over I don't believe it was scheduled to happen on Sep 11. (That's already taken place 10 yrs now) If there are dates to be taken into consideration, it's my understanding that mid Oct and early Nov seem to be the most concerning due to not only the object of discussion, but the debris that seems to be squelched in opinion. I've been researching the cosmos as well, and what you say about-

@TheCatfishDaniels Can you confirm that Elenin is still continuing on it's path? it's the 14th here in Australia and nothing happened on the 11th in regards to the comet which is the 12th here btw but obviously dooms day only relates to countries where the date was the 11th (but alas world still intact). This is a comet, just a comet you would be well advised to research the truth which is we are travelling through an interstellar energy cloud that is interacting with our Galactic Center & Sun.

@ThePerfectMinds Yes they were nice shots, but what is perplexing is that the images on the 2nd Sep from Southern Comets show it as a cloud of gassy debris, I am waiting until the 23rd and what turns up on SOHO to come to my conclusions. Regardless I think the hype surrounding this comet will be just that soon...hype. Peace.
