The Japanese folks working on those drums actually look very happy, meaning they probably take pride in their work. I have a PDP X7 now but I have always been a Pearl fanatic...owned a Masters MMX back in the day. I will be buying another.

Pearl are the only drums made this way to ensure a perfect sound, ALL other drums are made by hand. Dont get me wrong. if youre a solo artist then thats fine, but im not, I play the highland snare drum, marching type stuff. But we NEED our drums to sound exact. Pearl Drums have been scientifically produced, thats why all the machines, Research has been ongoing in pearl since 1946 to get what we see today, Pearl are the worlds best for that reason. Gretsch are just basic.
