Capturing the journey of the 95 mile walk from Milngavie to Fort William, this photo gallery shows off some of the more interesting scenery along the way. Distilled from some 500 photographs this small selection showcases some of Scotlands magnificent scenery around Loch Lomond, Glen Coe and Kinloch Leven. Autumn colours had just began to show in the trees and clear skys made for good visibility from all the high viewpoints along the way. Captured with the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ38 camera for most of the way and then the Panasonic Lumix TZ7 during the last half day in rainy(torrential) conditions. The gallery is only a small representation of the beauty that beholds anyone prepared to make this journey.
My photobook is available on Blurb.com if you want to see more images of the walk

I am in gratitude to DarkvinX for allowing the use of his cover version of the fantastic hourglass track from Dream theater's album Liquid Tension Experiment.

  • No, it wasn't me you met. We did it in June 2009. My dog is a cross Collie/Springer Spaniel called Corrie. I hope the dog that you met was all right. This is what I dreaded before going on the walk, what happens if he hurts himself and we are in the middle of nowhere?, thankfully he didn't and we have done many more long walks since then. Next week we are going to Keswick for some hill climbs.

    Thankyou for your reply anyway,

    Hazel.

  • @HazelAgnes48 Thanks for that, it was a collie, that's what made me think it might have been you. Good luck in Keswick, hope your waterproofs are to hand!

  • wow.. these pictures were wonderfull O_o I stopped the video many times and I just stared at them.. they are amazing..!!

  • @BladeDayBreak Many thanks for this amazing comment, the WHW does cut along some fantastic scenery, I just "pointed" the camera. Thanks for viewing.

  • Great video, a definate "like" from me. I did this walk with the dog 2 years ago, followed by the Great Glen Way a year later.

    Hazel.

  • Thank you. I try to post decent material to demonstrate either camera quality or a particular area of my interest and hope they appeal to others.

  • Hi ghough12, you've got very informative videos. Thanks for sharing your knowledge to the world!

  • The GF1 and GH1 aren't true dslr, they are mirrorless slr. The gh1 has built in high res eye level viewer, the gf1 gas an attachment viewfinder. The lumix are OK down to about 150 watts of tungsten with the kit lens, need to go to gh1/gf1 with 20mm f1.8 for anything dimmer or the auto will push up the iso to noisy 1600 if you don't limit it to 400 + 3ev.
