Buddhist Pali scripture mentions Lord Buddha was the cousin of Lord Mahaveer. He accepted Jainism & remained nude for 6 years and practiced jainism. The Jainism is most extreme religion where once you became you cannot have sexual attachments with anyone. Buddha being a monk, loved a girl..., this made him bringing the new religion with concepts of Hindu(materialistic Path), Jainism(Extreme Path) and few of his own concepts too. and This buddhism is hence so considered middle Path.

jainism is one of the most advanced religion. jains opted not to eat &harm animals ,insects,enviroment that is why they do not eat underground plants & animals .as many times u dig the ground u erode it .it also proves how strong the human body is without clothes & everything else .

Lonely Planet has reduced itself to mocking other cultures. They could have easily explained te nudity but they chose to leave it to the viewers imagination.

Also, Jainism itself is a very extreme religion. Lord Mahavir and all the tirthankars recognized this, and most lay people don't do the extremes that are requested. However, showing regular Jains as they are in the community doesn't make for interesting video, so you see only the extremes on programs, such as LP or GlobeTrekker. Anyway, I respect your right to your opinion, and will leave it at that. I just wanted you to know there is a logical reason behind what appears weird.
