Teochew Opera: 破镜重圆 3

When General Xu finds out that she is now the wife of his deadly foe, the evil Prime Minister Qin, he misunderstood her feelings, and loyalties. She reveals that 16 years ago when they met, and he went away into exile with no news, she was tricked by her self-serving brother into marrying the Prime Minister. Alas for the ill-fated lovers, whilst they have kept their love all these years, time and too many events have elapsed and General Xu feels that it is no longer possible for them to rekindle their relationship.

National Grade I Performer 刘小丽 as Lady Guan, and young laosheng 黄眏伟 as General Xu. The GuangDong Province Teochew Opera Academy First Company 广东潮剧院一团, performing on 16th Dec 2011 at the Kreta Ayer Peoples' Theatre, Singapore. This was the final night of their 7-day opera season here.
