San Bernardino Mayor Morris Addresses City's Bankruptcy Concerns

San Bernardino City Council voted Tuesday night to authorize a bankruptcy filing. The vote gives City Attorney James F. Penman power to begin proceedings for Chapter 9 bankruptcy, which would free the city of much of its debt but maintain the mayor and council as decision-makers. Without filing for bankruptcy, the city - which has a deficit of $45 million - would likely be unable to meet its Aug. 15 payroll, according to Penman.

Had Pat and his close followers designed the city to be self-sufficient instead of using the Federal Government as its EBT card we would be in better shape. Instead Pat and Van Johnson prefer to be the most-liked in their community. Years of telling people what they want to hear instead of telling them the truth has put San Bernardino in the hole. Everyday I earn my paycheck working for San Bernardino! I have taken an oath to possibly die for others. Pat does neither! I can work elsewhere!!

When a mom or dad exceeds their account, it is a mistake and a hard lesson learned. This is just criminal. With as many people watching as there were, how did it get so far WITH NO ONE SAYING ANYTHING? My faith in humans is strained already. Unbelievable..

well when you have government employees making 100,000 plus a year , and rely on a public welfare system to pay those employees - what do you expect.

Im trying to figure out why public employees wages out paced the private sector wages..
