    probably around 20' give or take to be on the safe side...about 10-12' for the diamond braid and another 8-ish feet for the cobra

    It isn't really for comfort. The sling should actually be loose enough that you really don't even feel it on your wrist. In short, with proper form the top of the bow should fall forward after the arrow is released. The sling adds peace of mind and won't let the bow hit the ground.
