I loved this movie.... i don't really think its for people, who just wouldn't get the creative aspect... but if your kind of an art freak like i am I think you will appreciate it. + its based off of Charles Perrault's fairytale story, it goes back to showing us how fairytales were never intended to be "happy and once upon a time" but rather mystical and twisted, in order to teach young children lessons.....i took a fantasy and fairytale class in college, it was very interesting :)

This movie is terrible it's filled with tons of anachronisms. The acting is terrible with one dimensional characters. There is no music. It's not like the original fairy tale. A few scenes are laughable though, for example, the girls' dead father can be seen breathing and moving throughout the entire scene. Also there is a staircase scene where they walk up the same stairs multiple times to create the illusion that they are walking up multiple stairs. A lot of bad editing.

I adored the movie, mostly because I love the story. It's almost sweet and sort of heartbreaking in a way. But hey, if you're not into "artsy" movies I guess you wouldn't like it.

My expectations for this movie were quite high, and as I am unfazed by the usual gore and blood and really love fairy tales (the usual raw, untempter, not child-proofed versions) I thought this would be great. The acting was great, the dialogue of the main characters was very appealing, the set and costumes were rich... But the ending was so abrupt and ad hoc, it left me disappointed. :/ About 95% of it was great, but the last 5% is enough to taint it.

Yesterday I rented this film on Virgin Active and this film was shit, each scene was over 5 minutes long, and to go up the stairs they would put the same scene over and over again.

The dialogues were poor and none existent, no suspense or good story, and the only reason I watched till the end was because it was so terrible and the worst was to come.

Little advice to Catherine, change career.

And guys don't watch this film, It was hard to even make this film 78 minutes.. Not the same Castles.TY

yes its a dark story, but my dad loves ghost storys and bloody legends,

so thats what i get as bed storys :S

no princesses and shining knights, just vengeful ghost and curses.
