Whenever this book concerns astronomy it's wrong.

Mike: Comparing the closest and furthest approaches of Mars and Earth gives no information whatever about the eccentricity of the Martian orbit.

You can say "I never said that" until the cows come home, but it's right there on p.34, Mike.
