Vintage Haley and Nathan.

Haley and Nathan have been friends for years, but as time as gone by, the friendship became very one-sided. Nathan became self-involved and only came to Haley when he wanted/needed something. Haley decided that she couldn't allow him to hurt her anymore - she tells Nathan he needs to leave her alone for now, she needs her space.
She begins to miss him.
He shows up at the cafe, and asks her to come to the basketball game with her, she's his 'luckycharm'. He can't do it without her there.
Haley's resolve begins to break, until she remembers the last game she went too - and how he had mistreated her. She tells him she can't do it anymore. Nathan, persistent, asks Haley to tutor him. Haley snaps and tells him that he only ever comes around when he's after something.
Nathan calls Haley to apologize, and for the first time in his life, she hangs up on him. He thinks about her, and the light she brings to his life. He makes a snap decision and shows up at her house in the rain.Nathan admits all of his wrongdoings, and asks, for just one chance to rebuild their friendship again.Nathan begins spending all of his free time with her, hoping that she'll let him in again.

And as their friendship grows stronger, so does Nathan's feelings for Haley. A turning point in their relationship occurs when Nathan tells her she's the most important person in his life, and it took her losing her to realize it.
