Risk allowance to all army personnel.06.11.2009-itn news Sri Lanka

The Presidents nod has been received to provide the special allowance applicable for soldiers serving in the North to all army personnel. This has been revealed by Army Commander Lt. Gen. Jagath jayasuriya.
The Army Chief was addressing officials at the 61st Battalion Headquarters in Vellankulam. Speaking further he said not a single politician or an Army Chief had arrived in Mulankavil until the President as the Commander in Chief arrived in the area. Lt. Gen. Jayasuriya observed that the Presidents tour of Mulankavil enthused the gallant soldiers.
The Army Commander said as the Wanni Commander he had earlier visited the area. It is very appropriate that the President arrived in the area. It was an enthusiastic moment for the people and the troops of the area.
