Hey, this is me buying my new guitar: it's a Fender USA Deluxe Stratocaster. It has a urethane finish (whatever it means) and it's called Olympic Pearl. I chose a rosewood fretboard because I prefer the feel and tone of it to a maple fretboard.

I love the neck of this guitar. It's a (not too thick) C-shape neck, with a thin satin finish on it, really smooth.
It has locking tuners, shaller strap locks, S-1 switching and SCN (Samarium Cobalt Noiseless) pickups. These pickups sound quite modern. The S-1 switch makes it possible to switch pickups in series and even more. It gives you 5 extra pickup combinations for extra versatility. I'm showing it at 3:22.

Also, at 4:55 I play Ritchie Sambora's solo from 'You Give Love A Bad Name'. You can see it stays in tune really well when using the tremolo.

Hope you like it!

  • at the end when you are playing you give love a bad name...it's in the bridge position...is the S-1 switch engaged?...to me itsounds/looks like it...personally (i have a 3 tone sunburst maple neck am dlx), i love the S-1 engaged/on in the bridge position for overdrive.

I'm pretty sure it was engaged at that moment. In fact, I really don't use the switch much. The sound becomes a bit too dark, and lacks the sharpness of a strat. If I really need the punch of a humbucker, I would just take my other strat. I must admit that the S1 switch is a neat feature though.

  • I really wanna know which hard case is that? I searched for that but couldn't find even in fender's web site.

  • @MrPapaHetfield

It's the case they used before the 2008 models. I asked the guys at the guitar shop if I could get the older case instead of the new SKB case because I prefer the old one. I don't think they sell these anymore.

  • that pink one probably sounds as good as a deluxe, them noiseless pup's are just plain horrible, I sold my deluxe 2 weeks aft buying it, got a strat plus in stead, the lace censors are much nicer, more of that fender sparkles

  • @UKToneKing

I really like these pickups, I don't have any complains at all. It just depends on the sound you're looking for. The SCN pickups tend to sound more modern.

  • @mraaronperson for an american strat, you cant even buy a mexican strat for that price, $350 is what they sell the squiers for.

  • is $350 a good deal on one of these?

  • Hey. I was hoping to get this guitar. May i knw the price?

  • it really fattens things up...and is essentially while in series with the S-1, a long distance humbucker.
