@carnright You know you've made the big time when THE Linsey Pollack comments on your video.

you have to learn the circular breathing

wow this is pretty cool, and pretty cool sound aswell, especially love the name Foonki sounds real cool, quite funny too, :-)

nice job! Love the bagpipe-type sound. After reading some of the other comments I went to Linsey's site and got the instructions on how to make the foonki, but how did you make the drone?
-
can you show how do you make this one? it's very nice! I play the highland begpipes.
-
I kept thinking you were going to play greensleeves! Nice work, great to see a membrane pipe actually in tune :)
-
that's great....well done.....love the drone addition.....keep it up! best wishes - Linsey
Nah, i sooner put a bag on it and call it a bagpipe :-)

Thanks! The drone is made the same way as the chanter, but slightly under twice as long. I then added a short smaller tube at the bottom to it to allow for adjusting the overall length and therefore the pitch. I tuned the drone to be an octave lower than the second note in the scale, the same way a highland bagpipe is done. Cheers, -Michael
