This ending is so much better than the original. Kirk dying was the single dumbest decision in Trek history. They should re-release the movie with this ending.

Everybody knows that each Star Trek movie is way better if a character dies. In fact, I prefer their characters to be way more exciting and edgy than their counterparts on the show. After all, the people who see the movie aren't the same people who watch the show.

1:00 You can see him exploding!

I watched this movie with two people who were thoroughly convinced that it was Sting playing the bad guy XD

Oh I just finally got it. He dies gloriously on "the bridge" as in a play on words of dying on the "bridge" of the enterprise. That's pretty smart.

The Enterprise can not be salvaged?
Riker found a way,
In "All good things".

I thought Kirk died another way because on TV I saw Kirk die when he was down in the ship and the bottom of the ship broke off and he died :I

I dunno, I guess weird shit like that makes more sense when you're only 10. We let stuff go easier at that age.

VAST improvement, Matthew. Kudos for the effort - I can't imagine it being any easy task to even find a salvageable idear out of that pile of goat shit. What you came up with was pretty good. Nice job cutting it together.
That's still FAR and away from saving this "movie"! Fuck me it's been almost 20 years and I STILL remember in the theater watching the EXACT same Bird of Prey explosion as ST6 and thinking to myself "huh, I thought Star Trek had a bigger budget than that".

@majormagna Only because Shatner wrote it and his Ego refused to let Kirk die.
Picard is really the better captain.

Well when the writers were told he had to die gloriously on the bridge, I think they got it wrong.
