This live version is just soooooo much more fluid, sensual and natural than the recorded version.

You can really hear her love of gospel and soul in the way she sings. Her voice has power to spare here.

I just wish she had been allowed to sing more like this on some of her records rather than the overly formal and slightly stilted sound that her albums had. Still thank goodness for youtube where we can hear her NATURAL voice at it pure unspoiled best!

Whitney should have recorded a lot more of this kind of material that she always did on her live concerts!

In fact, I always use to say one thing about Whitney: "If you only listen to Whitney's Cds, you will never know Whitney's vocal style and skills!"

In fact my favourit performance by Whitney, which is uploaded on my channel (Called: Life in a Song / I'am Changing), was Never recorded by her, like many other standards: "Summertime", "Porgy", etc...

In fact, Whitney always wants to sing Live, the few exceptions happen on some Tv shows where she simply isn't allowed to sing Live, But even on some of them, Like Top of the Pops, where almost everybody Lipped, she sung her part Live, with all the instruments pré-recorded.

It's true that she doesn't have this voice anymore, but even knowing it, she is still an Honest Live performer, even when she is sick, She never wants to trick the fans with lip-synch!

@soundseeker63 i think in the CD's the song should be recorded formal and in the performances she can sing like this. because a lot if not most of her audience like her way of singing like it is on the records. i guess it makes the songs more classic... idk but i do love the way she sings live for example the way she sings "i got to get ready" because she started singing the line after the time it should have been sung but it makes it more "soulful" i guess.
