@TheSquishMovies use an animated line stroke drawn with mask tool or copy pasted into the mask from adobe illustrator.
3d stroke from Trapcode is good...
these animated strokes are then used as alpha mattes to reveal the picture...

@hardcorechannel it takes like 5 minutes...They are pre-keyed, you only have to put them in place and render...
