"If the course supply is that of the artist, the demand of the people approaching the tango is exhibitionistic", "The artist, if he really is an artist, is an EGOIST"
Oh how true this is with 80% of the dancers in the USA!
A.Vitrone.
People who dance the old ways do deserve some respect, at least so that they
don't get pushed out of the floor (I have seen that). Tango milonguero is
not the road to heaven; it is one of the forms heaven manifests on earth.
Heaven is in the heart. Monica seems pretty fair in letting everyone voicing their opinion. I have seen several contrasting ones in different interviews. Without judgment, simply feeling the presence of these people is a wonderful experience.
Another interesting interview, can't wait for the second part! I've seen all PM interviews so far and enjoyed them a lot; however I start to get annoyed by the tendentious questions. It's clear that Monica wants to hear certain things to be said (essentially that people should respect more the old ways and tango milonguero is the royal road to heaven), and when the milongueros don't comply she quickly shifts subject. I say let them speak for themselves, I want to hear their unpressured opinions!
