So, this was our latest song project! Got the idea from an old hymn that is public domain. We arranged it the b.a.s.i.c. band style...a bit of retro Southern Rock, a bit of blues and soul, and throw in some funky! (NOTE: please make sure to watch it in 360p or even 480p with full screen on the page to get the best look and feel and sound. The thought behind the beginning intro of our band coming out of the ocean was to show that we also have been in the depths of despair and sin and had to call on the Master Of The Sea, like everyone else. On this one, we have Don McFarlin on bass, Sam on lead and rhythm guitars, Tracy on lead vox/2 harms, egg, video production and fun stuff.
2 Notes: I know alot of you want some video of us performing, and I like to create the vids to tell a story, so I thought I would mix it up and do a little of both. Still in the learning mode (a forever thing for me...I love it as much as the singing) for editing and so I had a little fun and the guys weren't around conveniently and decided to wait until next one, so I put in some clips to mix it up while we mixed it down. Not trying for a perfect sync on the singing or dancing egg clips as I do on the rest of the vid. Just wanted some "lifted up" video clips to give the feel and try for some coolness...pimp lol...a kind of "getting down" about getting up! The choreographer didn't show up that day! pimp lol...and don't forget to look and listen at 360p or the highest you can...sounds and looks way better.
An afterthought: alot of you know that I have had serious surgeries and health problems, but moving forward. I have been dealing with dizziness and eye problems as I recover. Anyway, the day we recorded some video, I was having a couple days of "no spinning" and eyes clearing...for the first time in 3 years...so I was celebrating! I know there will be more days coming. But to remember and capture that first really good day is very cool for me. I am very thankful. Ups and downs have come since, but love lifts me up...what better time for this to start happening than during the making of this song and video. It has been a long road and more to come...but, I have my boots on!! And also, I wasn't thinking when I taped it, so when I converted it to avi/HD it kind of made it long and short...which was good because it made me look like I gained weight. pimp lol
Also, my wonderful friend, Dave, http://www.youtube.com/user/ToadsWarts on Youtube, helped us out with the cool intro...stop by his channel and discover his talent...
